Thursday, February 28, 2013- Whole Foods, Fashion Island 5% Giveback Day
On Thursday, February 28th, Whole Foods, Fashion Island will donate 5% of its net profits to Newport-Mesa Spirit Run for the entire day!!!! When you visit Whole Foods, Fashion Island to register and/or pick up your race materials, please shop and dine there as well. Stock up on healthy, delicious organic food, enjoy lunch or dinner at Whole Foods’ Back Bay Tavern, or take dinner home including the $10 Thursday night pizza special. 5K is a run/walk around Fashion Island. 5K run starts first with a delayed start for the family walk. 5K participants expecting to finish after 9:30 a.m. may be asked to walk on the sidewalk to the line to accommodate access to Fashion Island . We appreciate your cooperation.
Adult 10K RUN
There is a time restriction on the 10K. You must be able to run faster than a 13 minute mile (or 1 hour 34 minute race).
Run 5K and 10K – times combined and ranked. Registrants will be issued 2 bibs and must wear a different bib in each race to be eligible to win a medal or prize and to receive finishing times for the 5k, 10k, and 15k.
Youth ¼ to 1-Mile Races
Seven separate races ranging from ¼ mile to 1 mile for ages 4 – 12.
Medal and prize will be awarded to the top 3 boys and girls of each race.
Daily Pilot Youth 5K
This race is for pre-high schoolers 14 and under (grade level mandatory). Parents/guardians of youth in this event may register for the Adult 5k but run in the Youth 5k, but must start in the back and are not eligible for awards. No other adults may run in the Youth 5k.
Registrants compete in the age appropriate ¼ mile to 1 mile race and the Youth 5k. Registrants will be issued 2 bibs and must wear a different bib in each race to be eligible to win a medal or prize and to receive finishing times for both races.
Twice the Fun
(Youth only) – Combined Entry into the Spirit Run on race day & the Frank E. Anderson Memorial Newport Beach Elementary Track Meet on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Corona del Mar High School. See registration form for further details about the Track Meet.
NEW Toddler Trot
This fun event is for two and three year olds. It will take place in our expo inside a fenced large astro turf covered area. Multiple start times will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Toddlers will receive finishers medals.

NEW Newport Beach Road Racing Series
Newport Beach Road Racing Series for Adults (15 and older) and Youth. The Series’ events include the 30th Anniversary Newport-Mesa Spirit Run, the Newport Beach Track Meet (youth only) on April 5, 2013, and the Corona del Mar Scenic 5k on June 1, 2013. Series’ benefits include discount pricing and series t-shirt for adults, and series’ medal and medal ceremony for youth. Click here for more information.
